Aquamarine
Aquamarine is named for its clear blue or blue-green color. Its name comes from Latin, meaning "sea water". It is a gemstone of the beryl family and belongs to the same mineral species as emerald. It is formed by beryllium, aluminum and silicon under high temperature and high pressure. It is mainly formed in pegmatite veins. Its blue color comes from trace amounts of iron ions.
